Why Martial Arts Practice is Essential at Agape Black Belt Center

My daughter has been taking taekwondo since she was 8. I have seen such a positive change in her she is definitely more mature for her age more respectful. Her confidence has grown so much and she loves it so much there that she calls Agape Black Belt Center her second home. Mr and Mrs. Ra and the instructors are very welcoming and patient from the very first day. It’s not just taekwondo to her anymore or to me it’s a way of life. It’s family.

Amazing center! Their taekwondo classes, summer camp, and afterschool program are all great programs. The kids enjoy going and I appreciate their communication and the focus on responsibility and respect.

It has been over 10 years that our daughter has been practicing taekowndo at Agape. Last week she earned her official black belt. Although the black belt journey was amazing, that is only a small part of the impact Agape has had on her. The art of taekwondo has fostered physical fitness, self-discipline and confidence while teaching respect, focus and perseverance. Agape has played a major role in who our daughter is today. Plus, Agape offers so many opportunities. Our daughter participated in summer camps (which she loved and looked forward to), today she is a camp councilor (volunteer). She has competed in the Agape tournament (Valor Cup) and has been presented the opportunity to compete outside of Agape. More recently, she joined the demo team where she is creating long lasting friendships and experiencing the value of team. The list goes on. Our family is incredibly grateful for Agape and the Ra family. I can only hope more kids have the opportunity to have an experience like this.

Agape Black Belt Center has been a huge blessing to many of us. They anticipate the needs of a child and help build their confidence. And the word “Respect” is not just like any word. It is put into practice the hour you sign up. The instructors are like the children’s guidance counselors. They know every child by name in the center which also shows they care. Very caring environment but very disciplined instructions. Coming to Agape and being around such a wonder what we call role models to us parents and our children. Thank you for everything you do.

We love Agape! The Ra family is incredible and our son looks forward to seeing them every day at the superb after-school program and in class. Our family absolutely LOVES virtual classes! The flexibility to not have to drive to and from multiple activities or juggle childcare means that Dominic can attend class more frequently with less strain on the family. It is so convenient to sign in right from home! The instructors have done a wonderful job managing both teaching and attending to their virtual students. They are really on top of things! I feel that Dominic gets just as much attention and guidance as he would have in person. Dominic has participated virtually in classes, testing, seminar, and fitness classes and truly enjoys the experience. And he finishes just as sweaty as he would have in person. ABBC has been a profound blessing to our family!

My entire family got to have the wonderful experience of learning Taekwondo here at Agape, I have learned so much through this program and I’ve had so much fun over the years. Agape Black Belt Center is truly the best center for TKD in the area. Our son has been practicing there for almost 4 years. He’s learned leadership, discipline, integrity, and so much more. Working as a camp counselor at AGAPE Black Belt Center was an incredibly rewarding experience that pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. Through this role, I learned how to be resourceful and think on my feet, especially when guiding campers through activities and ensuring they remained engaged. It also taught me the importance of patience and adaptability when working with children, helping me develop the skills needed to lead a group effectively. Some of my most memorable moments included playing dodgeball with the campers, where I saw firsthand how teamwork and encouragement can create a fun and energetic environment. I also had the opportunity to tutor kids in Arabic, which was a meaningful experience as I helped them connect with their language and culture. This experience truly shaped my leadership skills by making me more confident in my ability to manage a group, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive atmosphere. Whether leading games, organizing activities, or mentoring campers, I gained invaluable skills that will serve me in my future career working with children. My son began his journey here at Agape a few years ago. Since he’s started Taekwondo and the after school program he has grown significantly. He has matured into a great young boy. Even though he has ADHD, they knew how to work with him and make him fell heard and understood. They take the time to really listen and get to know my child. I would highly recommend them. He has learned how to be a leader and gained so much confidence in himself. I couldn’t thank Mrs. Ra, Grand Master Ra, Master Hailey, Master Matthew and Master Luke for everything they have done for my child! He hopes to become a master and help teach classes there.

What makes Agape so great is the people. It’s a community and environment that is built upon respect, discipline and encouragement. Besides that, they are all just down to earth people. The staff treats everyone with respect and kindness but isn’t afraid to correct your mistakes, which makes for a very positive and uplifting environment. My experience with Agape has been amazing and I have nothing but kind words for them.

The BEST place to send your children to! My son started at age 8 going for TKO classes and loved every minute of it and went to summer camp for a few weeks too. He learned so much and became friend's with others, learned about himself. We had to take a pause for a few years (due to my son playing so many sports at one time and)he is now 12 returning back to summer camp and TKO classes. It feels like home when we enter. The warmth of the staff members greeting us apron walking in, it is clean, a safe place for everyone to be in. I am so grateful to have found Agape and the Ra family is so wonderful! You will love it to same with your children. One of the best things I ever did for my son.

ABBC Summer Camp was an excellent experience. It was a good mix of physical and intellectual activities. The limited size and safety precautions left us feeling confident that it was a safe experience.

Another magical summer at Agape Black Belt Center's summer camp program. My daughter has attended for two summers now, and I can't recommend it highly enough. What truly sets Agape apart is the exceptional dedication and attentiveness of their staff. They foster a respectful and supportive environment, staff will actively intervene thats why there are no instances of disrespect or bullying among the children. Not to mention, it’s super clea, clean everywhere! It's incredibly reassuring to know that my child is constantly supervised and cared for – not just periodically checked on, but genuinely engaged with throughout the entire day. The staff's consistent positive reinforcement, encouraging words, and warm greetings create a genuinely nurturing atmosphere. Safety is clearly a paramount concern. Before each field trip, the staff conducts thorough safety briefings in small groups with all campers, ensuring a well-defined and executed safety plan is in place. The daily updates are fantastic! Parents receive numerous photos and videos showcasing their children's activities and enjoyment throughout the day. This constant stream of visual updates provides incredible peace of mind and allows parents to actively share in their children's summer adventures. My four-year-old will be attending next year. I particularly appreciate the positive impact it has had on my older daughter's development since she’s been attending Agape at the age of four. Joining the Agape Black Belt Center over the past year has been one of the best decisions ever for our family and children. We took a leap of faith and signed up for their Summer camp program.
