Master John Ra (7th Dan Hapkido, 6th Dan Taekwondo, 5th Dan Judo) has been studying martial arts since 1984. He received a degree in Judo and Physical Education from the prestigious Yong In University of Martial Arts in Yongin, South Korea. He has competed and received medals in numerous national and international Taekwondo tournaments including Collegiate Nationals. With over 30 years of martial arts experience, he instructs and oversees day-to-day operations at Agape Black Belt Center and conducts seminars and demonstrations around the Rochester area.

Dr. Mark C. Zeigler

Dr. Mark C. Zeigler (3rd Dan Taekwondo) began his study of Taekwondo in 1984 under the instruction of Grand Master David Chaanine in Chula Vista, California. Following a 25 year hiatus, Dr. Zeigler (A.K.A. Professor) resumed his study of Taekwondo in February 2015 at the Agape Black Belt Center. Professionally, Dr. Zeigler has been a member of the faculty at Nazareth College since 1997 and serves as the Director of Choral Activities and Co-Program Director for the Music/Business program. Dr. Zeigler holds a B.A. in Music and M.A. in Choral Conducting (San Diego State University) and a Ph.D. in Choral Music Education (Florida State University). “Professor” holds Master Ra in the highest regard and is delighted to be a part of the ABBC family.

Hailey Ra

Hailey Ra is a third degree black belt and has been training in taekwondo since she was five. Throughout her journey as a martial artist, she has competed in numerous local competitions and high caliber tournaments, such as the New York State Championships and US Open. She has received numerous amounts of medals in forms, sparring as well as board breaking. In addition, Hailey has also received awards in leadership, dedication and spirit. Outside of the academy, Hailey is a student at Pittsford Sutherland High School. She also enjoys playing the violin in the school's Symphony Orchestra and prefers to spend her free time with family and friends or watching Korean dramas. She loves to compete and teach and currently holds the National Jr. Champion title in Taekwondo Poomse at the Korean American National Sports Festival (KANSF) and Silver Medal at the 2016 New York State Championships in Poomse. In January of 2017, Hailey also placed 1st at the 2017 US Taekwondo Open in Las Vegas, NV with her team in the Freestyle division. She also competed in individual forms and placed with the 9th highest score in the preliminary round. Hailey instructs classes regularly and can also be seen training and helping around the academy.​

Henry Ash has been studying Taekwondo since he was ten years old. He has competed in tournaments both locally and out of state. Henry is happiest when he is at the Dojang every day. He loves to teach everyone- from young children to adults- and plans to continue teaching for the rest of his life. He excels in school as much as he does in TaeKwan Do. Henry does not see the words on the wall – Respect. Humble. Patience. – and leave them at the dojang when class is over. He brings those words with him and have made them a part of every aspect of his life.

Luke Ra is a 2nd degree black belt and started studying Taekwondo at the age of three. At the academy, he can be seen assisting as well as leading classes. Outside of the academy, Luke likes to spend his free time with his friends. He also enjoys playing basketball with others and drawing. In addition the these hobbies, Luke also enjoys competing in tournaments. Throughout the years he has received numerous medals in local and regional competitions.​

Beginning with an interest in Asian culture, Bill Bendschneider (2nd Dan Kuk Sool Won) began studying traditional Korean martial arts in the mid 1980s. His love of martial arts has extended to training in Aikido and Kali and most recently Tae Kwon Do/Hapkido under Master Ra. He has found the quality of instruction at Agape Black Belt Center to be unsurpassed and is inspired by the dedication of this martial arts family. As an educator (International Baccalaureate Psychology & Theory of Knowledge, Finger Lakes Community College Introduction to Psychology & Sociology, and World History), he particularly appreciates the attention to character development at ABBC and the solid grounding in positive virtues which are at the heart of the center’s programs.
